“After buying a new home, I was on the fence with asking for a third party inspection. But Travis was very thorough, got out in 30 degree weather to come look at it and did a really nice job. He found stuff I would have never thought to look for on my own, including an issue with the dryer vent that needed to be addressed. Was very professional and prompt throughout. I would highly recommend getting a third party inspection and using Southern Star if you’re on the fence!"

“After going through all the paperwork of buying a new home for the first time I was pretty frazzled. After that was all out of the way, and I met with Travis Kepp for a 3rd party inspection, I was so thrilled to have been recommended to him by my realtor. It’s a brand new house, it looked amazing and perfect. But, Travis found the smallest things that were needing adjustments that I would never have thought to look at in a million years. Things that could have come down the road in the following years to bite me. For instance, the kitchen sink faucet that could rotate 360 when it should have had stoppers installed so it could not fully rotate. Now I know! You can’t trust what the builders tell you is a perfect house, no matter who they are. For a 3rd party Inspector, definitely go with Travis Kepp. His pricing was very reasonable too!”

We used him for the inspection of two homes so far and should we be in the market again we will have him inspect the home for us then too. I would recommend an inspection of your home even if you are not looking to sell/buy one just to find out how things are settling in your home. I found it very helpful and with the report you can make your home safe and more economical by repairing the items that may be causing HVAC leaks (which can be both dangerous and costly on energy bills) and other things that you may just not think about. It will also give you an idea of how far an older home is from being up to today's code. Great experience!!!!!"

"I did my own search for a Home inspector after the listing Realtor recommended someone who had had their inspection license suspended. I found Southern Star and after talking with Travis found that he should be the guy to do our Home Inspection. He has great knowledge of the building process and knows what to look for. I was glad that he wanted me to be present for the home inspection, which was very helpful as he explained what he was looking for and gave suggestions for maintenance issues as we went through the inspection. Travis will give you his utmost attention during the inspection. I found it curious that I left him a message both times I tried to contact him, but he is very responsive, and I later realized that he gives undivided attention to the Home inspection and takes a break to return calls and rehydrate. To me that is the pinnacle of service.
The report is a very detailed document which I have referred to a number of times for little maintenance items or to refresh my mind on something he said. I would not hesitate to use Southern Star Inspections and Travis Kepp again!"

"Travis came out to my new home today to do a pre dry wall inspection. He was very personable and informative throughout the inspection. I was fortunate enough to be there and witness my builder's inspectors come in and do their "inspection" as well. The builder's inspectors were there for maybe around 30 minutes, whereas Travis had been there for 3 and a half hours and even stayed around for another hour after the inspection to take me through the house and show me what he found that needed change or fixing.
